Our journey winds through the picturesque village of Pisciotta, a paradise for olive oil enthusiasts, and past the historic ruins of Velia, once Elea, a beacon of ancient Greek and Roman civilization and birthplace of the philosophical school Eleatic founded by Parmenides and Zeno.

As we pedal, the charm of the Mediterranean envelops us, taking us to our last stop: Acciaroli. Ascending to Castellabate’s natural balcony, perched 250 meters above the sea, we’re treated to a panoramic feast for the senses.

From rural Cilento to Paestum’s ancient glory, mozzarella awaits…

Our final cycling chapter unfolds from Cilento’s rural villages to the majestic Doric temples of ancient Paestum. We leave from the sandy stretches of Santa Maria beach, we ride towards Agropoli’s bustling port, navigating through the verdant hills that form Cilento’s hinterland. Our route meanders back to the quite mountain vistas of Trentinara and Capaccio, only to lead us once again to the sea’s edge at Paestum.

Here, in Paestum, we’re greeted by one of Magna Graecia’s most fascinating and impeccably preserved treasures. The site’s Doric temples stand as silent sentinels to history, surrounded by the ancient city walls, the bustling agora, and the echoing amphitheater, each telling tales of a civilization long past. Before we bid farewell to Cilento, indulge in the region’s culinary crown jewel: the exquisite buffalo mozzarella, a taste that encapsulates the essence of this remarkable journey.

Day 6: The Amazing Amalfi Coast |

Our adventure begins with a morning shuttle whisking us away to the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, setting the stage for a day of exploration and awe. We take on a hike along one of the globe’s most celebrated trails: Il Sentiero degli Dei (The Path of the Gods). Picture yourself suspended between the heavens and the azure sea, embarking on a walk through time and nature. This path offers a window into the Amalfi Coast’s soul, weaving through spectacular landscapes and untouched rural areas.

Starting from the small mountain village of Bomerano, we tread along ancient mule tracks, enveloped by the scent of wild herbs and the stunning vistas of rugged cliffs diving into the sea. Our destination is the chic and vibrant Positano, a village clinging to the cliffs, its colorful buildings a testament to the lively spirit of the Amalfi Coast.

As we reach Positano, our senses are rewarded not just with the visual feast of its steep streets and wisteria-draped balconies, but with a taste of local hospitality—a well-deserved glass of homemade Limoncello.
