Throughout this self-guided bike tour, your base will be in Split, where you can stroll along its expansive palm-lined waterfront, savor trendy bars, indulge in delicious local konoba (taverns), and immerse yourself in the evening’s local lifestyle.
Most days will offer a choice between leisurely coastal rides and challenging climbs up to 700m, with cycling distances ranging from 10 to 80 km. Uncover the Greek, Roman, and Venetian heritage while gaining insight into Croatian culture. Savor excellent olive oil and wine, and delight in Mediterranean cuisine, widely regarded as the healthiest in the world!
Explore Brač, Croatia’s third-largest island, renowned for its fishing and agriculture, particularly its vines and olives, as well as its prized limestone, which was utilized in the construction of Diocletian’s Palace in Split and the White House in Washington.
Cycle along the tranquil rural roads of Šolta, where you’ll experience a step back in time, as the island lacks large hotels and modern developments, allowing for a glimpse into traditional life.
Discover ancient villages and coastal paths on Hvar, including the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stari Grad, and ride through lavender fields to reach Hvar town.

A Self-Guided Bike Tour is a type of cycling adventure where you have the freedom to plan and navigate at your pace. Our dedicated tour guide and support team will handle hotel bookings, logistics, and baggage transport, ensuring you enjoy a hassle-free and carefree experience.
Relax
Stages up to 50 km per day with a maximum of 600 meters of climbing. They are conceived for guests that ride their bikes twice per week on roads without major climbs. Usually, you are back at the hotel in the early afternoon.
For guests that want more riding, we can add extra loops to regular stages.

Welcome to the historic Mediterranean city of Split!
Depending on when you arrive, we will meet at your hotel, set up your bike, and go over the details of your cycling vacation!
In Split, you will ride through the scenic Marjan hill, a popular recreational spot for Split’s residents, with the option to extend your journey along the coastline to a nearby village. If you prefer, we also have a longer 80 km loop ride prepared for you!
In the evenings, we encourage you to discover the Palace of Diocletian, which is over 1700 years old and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, along with the Peristyle, Diocletian’s mausoleum, Romanesque homes, and the local fish market where you can experience daily life among fishermen… Split serves as the central hub for administration and culture in Croatia’s Dalmatian coastal region.

After a relaxing ferry ride, you reach the largest island in the central Dalmatian group and the third largest in the Adriatic Sea – Brač. The island boasts numerous historical sites that date back to Ancient Greece and the Middle Ages.
Enjoy a leisurely bike ride through coastal towns and villages, or venture into the interior to explore older settlements that are rich in cultural and historical landmarks and possess much more architectural interest than those along the coast. In addition to the stunning landscapes during your cycling journey, Brač is renowned for its stone sculptures and quarries, which provided materials for the construction of the White House in Washington and Diocletian’s Palace in Split.
Optional visits include an art gallery, an island museum, an olive oil museum, and one of the last remaining stone carving schools in Europe. There will be a ferry available in the late afternoon or even at night for your return to Split.

Explore the island of Šolta by bike. Just a short distance from Split, yet it feels untouched by modern urban development.
Relish thrilling rides on serene, scenic roads that wind through quaint villages, olive orchards, and vineyards. Cycling around the island gives you a sense of stepping back in time as you witness traditional farm lifestyles.
Take pleasure in the island’s beautiful coves and bays before heading back to Split. You can select your biking distance today, whether you prefer routes offering stunning views of Split and the mainland or the vast sea along the southern coast of the island.

Today marks the final day of biking, and we suggest visiting the island of Hvar.
While cycling on Hvar, you’ll encounter lavender fields, olive groves, and vineyards. You’ll ride along a picturesque and predominantly flat route on the northern side of the island, passing through the quaint towns of Jelsa and Vrboska, ultimately arriving in Stari Grad (Greek: Pharos, which means Old Town), the oldest settlement on the island and one of the earliest in Europe established by the ancient Greeks. You have the option to take a more demanding uphill route that goes through rosemary and lavender fields along with ancient Greek walls.
Enjoy the stunning vista from the island’s peak before descending towards Hvar. Since it’s your final ride, why not indulge in a few drinks at the historic piazza with views of the 7th-century fortification walls, the Venetian loggia, and the oldest municipal theater in Europe?

Depending on your flight or departure time, you will have the opportunity to fit in another bike ride or enjoy a delightful coffee in Split!

Our islands are quite hilly, but with this itinerary you do not need to climb any of those. You can have your bike and just enjoy coastal towns and rides or do a bike ride of 80 km or more.
The hotels we prefer to use are small, boutique hotels, usually located in the center of historic cities.
They are divided into three levels of standard: CLASSIC (3/4 stars), PREMIER (4 stars), EXCLUSIVE (4/5 stars).
