Bike Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Diocletian's Palace

When you arrive in Split, you will meet our representative and get acclimated to the area!

We recommend exploring the 1700-year-old Diocletian’s Palace, which is now recognized on UNESCO’s World Heritage list, before taking a stroll along Marjan Hill, a favorite spot for locals. If you get there early enough, you should definitely visit the lively green and fish markets, which are among the top attractions in modern-day Split. The residents of Split have their true homes integrated within the ancient walls of the Palace, and inside, you’ll find a variety of cafés and restaurants offering fresh Mediterranean cuisine!

Meals: –
Activity: walking: 14 km  –  Short Option: 7 km
Optional: swimming and snorkelling during the walking tour
Overnight: Split

Day 2: Kayak, snorkel and swimming in Split

Today, you can choose between a morning or sunset session for a scenic 4-hour adventure around the Marjan peninsula. This paddling experience is ideal for beginners, as we stay close to the coastline. After a brief introduction to paddling techniques and safety protocols, we will embark on our journey around the peninsula. As the landscape transitions from quiet bays nestled within shady pine forests to pebble beaches, we’ll pause for a swim in one of the bays—an excellent spot for snorkeling too! Discover the “wild side” of Split from a unique sea-level viewpoint, just a few minutes from the vibrant city center! Don’t forget to bring your swim gear, as we will take a break to swim and snorkel in one of Marjan’s hidden coves.

Meals: Breakfast
Activity: guided sea kayak 3 – 4 hours tour, snorkeling and swimming
Optional: visit of green and fish market in Split, walk along the historic center of Split
Overnight: Split

Day 3: Hvar Island

Enjoy another cup of coffee while taking in the sights on the ferry ride from Split to Hvar Island. Begin your hike along the rocky trail at the island’s summit, exploring abandoned villages that were once well-known for lavender oil production. The second portion of the hike leads you past many secluded coves along Hvar’s southern coastline, where you might want to take a dip in the crystal-clear waters before arriving at Hvar town’s renowned “piazza,” which features numerous historical structures built during the Venetian era.

Meals: Breakfast
Activity:  walking 12 km
Optional: swimming, snorkeling
Overnight: Hvar town

Day 4: Hvar kayaking by sea

Following a leisurely breakfast, you embark on a journey to a group of small islands known as the Pakleni Islands. The name has historical roots, dating back to when these islands were the primary providers of rosin for local shipbuilders. Much like in the past, the islands are still adorned with dense pine forests that offer cool shade even during the hottest days of summer. The route meanders through narrow channels and around the islands, unveiling small secluded pebble beaches where you can experience the joy of having your own beach, if only for a while, allowing you to swim, snorkel, and unwind. You return to Hvar town during the early afternoon hours.

Meals: Breakfast
Activity: Sea kayak tour, guided 3 – 4 hours
Overnight: Hvar town

Day 5: Korčula Island

This morning, we recommend hiking up through a park to visit Spanjola Fortress, which offers a stunning view of Hvar town, its harbor, and the nearby islets! The fortress was constructed on the location of a medieval castle, where you can find a collection of ancient amphorae. After returning to Hvar town, you may want to explore the Renaissance Theater, built in 1612, which is likely the first theater in Europe, and the Benedictine Monastery, home to a collection of laces crafted by nuns from dried agave leaves. In the afternoon, you’ll depart by ferry to Korčula town, where you will spend the next two nights. Historically, Korčula was selected by the Venetians as the site to construct their significant walled city on the northern coast of the island. As a result, we still have the magnificently preserved Korčula Old Town, which has remained almost intact for centuries.

Meals: Breakfast
Activity: walking 3 km
Optional: swimming, snorkeling
Overnight: Korčula town

Day 6: Walking in Korčula

Begin your hike this morning on the eastern side of Island Korčula. The journey today will lead you through ancient villages and rocky trails lined with cypress and pine trees, as well as olive groves and fragrant Mediterranean flora. For lunch, we recommend enjoying homemade pašticada or pasta, paired with Pošip, the most renowned white wine from this island. In the afternoon, stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town of Korčula, where the famous explorer Marco Polo began his adventures. While in the historic center, you may want to visit the Cathedral of St. Marko, which showcases Gothic and Renaissance architecture.

Meals: Breakfast
Activity:  walking 12 km  –   Long Option: 23 km
Optional: swimming and snorkeling
Overnight: Korčula town

Day 7: Penisula of Pelješac

The day starts with a brief boat journey to the Pelješac Peninsula and the town of Orebić. Founded in the 15th century as part of the Republic of Dubrovnik (Ragusa), Orebić is known for its maritime heritage and skilled sailors. You’ll see many lovely stone villas that once belonged to renowned sea captains scattered throughout the town. The hike commences in Orebić, where you’ll traverse the southern slopes of Mt. Ilija, passing by tranquil vineyards and an ancient Franciscan monastery while taking in stunning views of Korčula and the Pelješac archipelago. Upon returning to the coast, you will walk along the waterfront of Kučište, leading to Viganj, a charming and relaxed village in Dalmatia.

Later this afternoon, you will head towards the mainland. While en route, you will stop in Ston to explore the second-longest stone wall in Europe, the historic salt pans, and the significance this region held during the 14th century for the Republic of Dubrovnik. After a brief pause, you will continue on to the “Pearl of the Adriatic” – Dubrovnik, where you will enjoy your final evening of the trip!

Meals: Breakfast
Activity: 9 km (+4 km Ston walls)
Overnight: Dubrovnik

Day 8: Bye!

After breakfast today, the tour comes to a close.

You may consider prolonging your visit in Dubrovnik to discover the historical landmarks and the impressive wall encircling the old town!
